Put the phone down,
take your life back.

One deliberate pause between you and the feed, so the next twenty minutes are a choice.

A demonstration of the Mindless flow: a doomscrolling feed is interrupted by an intention check that asks what you are actually looking for, and the session ends with time returned to your day.

The mechanism

One pause can break the whole loop.

Mindless puts one intentional pause between you and the feed. Not a hard block, a moment. Enough space to catch the reflex, name what you actually came for, and choose whether this is it.

1
Catch the reachThe moment you open Instagram, TikTok or X, Mindless steps in before the feed does.
2
State the intentionAnswer one honest question about what you are actually looking for right now.
3
Choose on purposeGo in with a reason, or close it and keep the time. Either way it was your call.

Choose the apps that pull you into autopilot.

The real cost

4 to 6 hours a day. Gone.

That is more than 2,000 hours a year. Mindless does not shame the number. It shows it to you, then helps you spend it on purpose.

On purpose, and put down.

The Mindless idea

The phone is not the problem. It is the place you go to avoid the real one.

You do not need more willpower. You need to know what feeling you are escaping.

The opposite of mindless scrolling is not productivity. It might be self-trust.

What is inside

Small tools, real friction

Three tools that turn an automatic open into a decision you actually make.

Hold the boundary

Group apps, set schedules, and cap daily limits that match your real life. Boundaries that stay put when your willpower does not.

Break the reflex

Add enough friction to turn an automatic override into a deliberate decision. Make the override intentional.

See the pattern

Connect your intentions, moods, journals, and usage so the app can show you what keeps pulling you back.

Built for privacy

Mindless needs to know when you opened something and for how long. It does not need to know what you did in there, and it is not built to find out.

Letters to Mindless

We didn’t write a word of this. These are unedited reviews from people tired of losing hours to a screen they never meant to open.

CBreezy94App Store review

"For years, my phone was taking over my life, endless scrolling, missed opportunities to connect with people around me, and constant fatigue from all the screen time. In a couple of weeks, my usage went way down, and I've noticed real improvements: more time for hobbies, better sleep, and actually being present in conversations."

bwhitx11App Store review

"I come from a military background and consider myself disciplined, but I still caught myself mindlessly scrolling chasing dopamine. Mindless helped me notice it before I slipped into autopilot. That awareness alone has made a huge difference in how I use my phone."

emilyjwilbsApp Store review

"It's helped me be way more aware of my scrolling without making me feel guilty or restricted. Super easy to set up and feels supportive instead of annoying."

Questions

The honest answers

Is this different from Apple Screen Time?
Screen Time shows you the number and lets you set a limit. Mindless adds an intention pause when you open an app, and connects that moment to your moods, journals, and usage patterns.
What if I genuinely need the app?
You stay in control. Mindless turns an automatic open into a deliberate choice. It is not designed to lock you out of your phone.
I already tried app blockers. What is different?
Most blockers focus on the app. Mindless focuses on the moment you reach for it, and the reason underneath the reach.
Can I get around the pause if I really want to?
Yes, and that is the design. A lockout you cannot open just teaches you to resent the app and delete it. The pause is there to make the override a decision you notice making, not one it is impossible to make.
Can Mindless see what I do inside my apps?
No. Mindless can tell which app has come to the foreground, so it knows when to show your focus screen. It cannot read screen content, messages, searches, or passwords. Your screen-time statistics, blocks and limits are stored on your device rather than uploaded to us.
Do I have to block anything to start?
No. You can run intention checks on their own and block nothing at all. Plenty of people never set a single block and just want the pause before the feed opens.
Which apps does it work with?
Whichever ones you pick. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Reddit, Snapchat, Facebook and Netflix are the usual suspects, but the list is yours to set and any app on your phone can go on it.
Is Mindless therapy?
No. Mindless is a digital wellness and self-reflection tool. It does not diagnose or treat any medical or mental health condition.
How much does it cost?
Mindless is free to download. Full access requires a subscription, with plans shown in the app.
